The Benefits of Publishing Open Access
The income of editors and staff of Forum Multimedia Publishing are independent of the number of articles accepted and they are based on their contract with the publisher.
Authors Retain Copyright: Forum Multimedia Publishing uses the "CC-BY license" to allow authors to retain the copyright of their works. As long as the original author is correctly credited, the material can be reused and republished.
Increased Visibility and Accessibility: Since articles are immediately available online for free and permanently after publication, they have a wider distribution and higher accessibility.
Enhanced Citation and Impact: All articles published by Forum Multimedia Publishing can be read in full immediately without the need for registration or subscription. This enables authors to connect with readers worldwide and increases the visibility of their work.
Promotion of Collaboration: Open access removes barriers to accessing research findings, promoting collaboration. Researchers from different backgrounds and institutions can easily access and build upon each other's work. Authors of open access articles may benefit from increased visibility, leading to more collaboration opportunities, invitations to conferences, and establishing connections in the academic community.
Compliance with Open Access Policies: Open access journals are indexed in bibliographic databases and institutional repositories without any embargo period, allowing authors to easily comply with funding sources or academic institutions' open access policies.
Choose the Journal
All publications on eCM have been immediately freely available upon publication since eCM was conceived in 1999, articles are freely accessible to the public without any embargo period, irrespective of who funded the research. This is equivalent to the new term "Gold Open Access" where articles are immediately available for others to read, download and share (e.g. can be uploaded on ResearchGate).
The Heart Surgery Forum® (HSF, Print ISSN: 1098-3511, Electronic ISSN: 1522-6662) is an open access, peer-reviewed scientific journal for cardiothoracic surgery professionals. All publications are freely available upon publication, and articles are freely available to the public without any embargo period, regardless of who funded the research.
2.Article Archiving
Since 2016, all eCM articles are held within the CLOCKSS archive to ensure they remain available forever. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) is a not-for-profit joint venture between the world’s leading academic publishers and research libraries, whose mission is to build a sustainable, geographically distributed dark archive to ensure the long-term survival of web-based scholarly publications for the benefit of the greater global research community.
The HSF is committed to archiving the published journal content using CLOCKSS and Portico to ensure Journal content is preserved for the long term.
