Prof. Dr. Hitoshi Hirose graduated Nagasaki University School of Medicine, Nagasaki, Japan and obtained MD degree in 03/1990. He obtained a Ph.D. degree at From Juntendo University School of Medicine, Tokyo Japan, on 12/2005. He was completed as a Surgical Intern and Residency at St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, (New York, NY) Research Fellow at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, Vascular Biology and Surgical Research. (Theme: Immunopathogenesis of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm); Fellow in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, (Cleveland, OH.); Drexel University College of Medicine, (Philadelphia, PA.); and Thomas Jefferson University, (Philadelphia, PA.). He has been awarded First Comer Award in Dean's Award for Excellence in Education at Jefferson Medical College in 04/2013; Andrew Foster Award from Advancement of Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Care on 10/2/2015; Top 10% Researcher Contributing to Peer Review (Sentinels of Science Medicine) in 09/2016; Education Honor Roll, Thomas Jefferson University in 08/2021; Top 5 Poster Award, Chest 2021 in 10/2021 and Virtua WE Award, Virtua Health in 10/2022.
He specializes in cardiovascular surgery, cardiac intensive care, shock and mechanical circulatory support. He has 306 publications and 3,588 citations in Web of Science. These also include numerous bibliographies: including peer review journals (272); abstracts (91), chapters in books (7), presentations (262) and others (10).
His extensive involvement in the medical community is evident through his membership in 29 different professional societies, including prestigious organizations such as the American Medical Association, the Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, the European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the Asian Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association. Dr. Hirose holds significant leadership roles, serving as the co-chairman of the International Academy of Vascular Sciences and holding positions in 24 specialties and scientific committees. He also has expertise and contributions to the field, Prof. Dr. Hirose has been entrusted with guest editorship for 39 journals and serves as an editorial board member for 28 international journals, including the American Journal of Kidney Disease, Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and The Heart Surgery Forum.

Prof. Dr. Hrvoje Gasparovic is a Full Professor of Surgery at the University of Zagreb. He completed a residency in General Surgery at University Hospital Rebro Zagreb and was a fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School Affiliate).
He is a member of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery; the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts; and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is also the president of the Croatian Association for Cardiac Surgery and board examiner for the Croatian Board in Cardiothoracic Surgery and the European Board in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is the author/co-author of 115 full-text papers and 10 textbook chapters, which are indexed in Pubmed. The publications get 1500+ citations for now. And he had over 100 lectures at medical meetings. Moreover, he is a reviewer for the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, ESC Heart Failure, International Journal of Cardiology, PLOS ONE, Croatian Medical Journal, Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery. He is an editorial board member of Trials, Croatian Medical Journal and Heart Surgery Forum.

Associate Pro., Dr. Hossein Shayan received his medical degree from University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
He is a member of 14 different professional societies such as UBC Cardiac Surgery Residency Training Committee; Clinical Associate Professor at Western University of Health Sciences, California, Society of Thoracic Surgeons,Canadian Cardiovascular Society,Canadian Association of General Surgeons (CAGS). He has also received a number of awards, such as the Founder and Director of Avicenna Vision Canadian (2008 to present), the International Arnold Gold Foundation Humanism Award David in 2006. In addition, he was licensed by California and British Columbia, American Board of Surgery in 2010, the Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Cardiac Surgery in 2009, the Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Surgery in 2006.

Dr. Behrooz Astaneh received his medical degree from Shiraz University of Medicalsciences in Shiraz, Iran, and his degree in medical journalology from the University of Westminster in London, UK.
Dr. Behrooz Astaneh is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and vice president of the Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors (EMAME). He was an editor of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE, Vancouver group) and was selected as a director of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) in July 2020. He is now located in Canada where he works on Health Research Methodology and Evidence-Based Medicine at McMaster University and is also an acting Associate Editor of the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ).
