Shikun He served as a professor at the Departments of Pathology and Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California, USA, from 2000 to 2019. He was a committee member of the Society for Ocular Pigment Cell Research (USA) and is a Member of The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), USA, as well as a Member of the Epigenetic Research Society (USA). He has published two books as chief Editor in Chinese: "Retinal Pigment Epithelium - Principles and Clinical" and "Ocular Epigenetics." Additionally, he served as an Associate Chief Editor for the translation of the 4th edition of "RETINA" into Chinese in 2010 (Chief Editor: Steven Ryan). He contributed to chapters on Epigenetic Mechanisms of Retinal Diseases in the 5th edition of "RETINA" (Chief editor Steven Ryan) and in "Ryan's Retina" 6th and 7th editions (SriniVas R. Sadda, et al). He has been invited to be a peer reviewer for more than 40 English journals and invited as a member of the editorial boards of numerous English biomedical journals. He retired from the University of Southern California in 2019 and joined FMP as a Director in April 2024. With extensive experience in journal management and editorial supervision, he excels in academic publishing, understanding the evolving trends in research dissemination. As the Director of FMP, he is dedicated to fostering exceptional content, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing the journal's mission. His expertise includes comprehensive editorial planning, effective communication, and stakeholder involvement, aiming to facilitate knowledge exchange and drive the journal's success in the academic community.
